Marc C. Johnson’s book on Sens. Mike Mansfield of Montana and Everett Dirksen and their historic bipartisan partnership during the turbulent 1960s.

The Billings Chamber of Commerce, the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center and Buchanan Capital will host “A Montana Legacy: Mansfield’s Fidelity to Bipartisanship, Integrity, and Ethical Leadership,” which will feature a community conversation with Marc Racicot, Chairman of the Mansfield Center Board and former Montana Governor, and Marc Johnson, historian and author of “Mansfield and Dirksen.”

The event will take place at 5:30 p.m., Nov. 16 at the Billings Depot.

This community event will focus on bridging divides and strengthening our democratic institutions. Racicot and Johnson will lead the conversation and will focus on both the enduring legacy of Montana’s Mike Mansfield and how contemporary Montanans can work together to support the core values of democracy in the Mansfield Way.

A reception will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and the program will follow from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Attendees may purchase a copy of Johnson’s book, “Mansfield and Dirksen: Bipartisan Giants of the Senate,” on-site from This House of Books and Johnson will be available to sign them.
